Base (底座, Dǐzuò)

Lion Head (狮子头, Shīzitóu)

The king of collectible walnuts, with full shape, deep texture, and flat base. Named for its resemblance to a lion's head, it's one of the most popular varieties.

Luster (光泽, Guāngzé)

The degree of shine on the walnut surface, an important criterion for judging patina quality.

Official Hat (官帽, Guānmào)

A common variety of collectible walnut, shaped like an ancient official's hat, with a flat top and neat edges with angles.

Patina (包浆, Bāojiāng)

A layer of gloss formed on the walnut surface after long-term handling, one of the most important characteristics of collectible walnuts. Good patina should be even, natural, and lustrous.

Texture (纹路, Wénlù)

The natural patterns on the walnut surface, an important basis for judging walnut variety and quality.

Touch (手感, Shǒugǎn)

The tactile sensation when playing with walnuts. Good walnuts should feel comfortable, have a hard texture, and not be easily damaged.
