1. Scope and site operator

This policy applies to https://www.play-walnut.com and explains the data practices of Play Walnut and the third-party services used to publish, measure, protect, and potentially fund the site. Play Walnut is an independent educational website operated under the public publisher name Play Walnut Editor.

The site is primarily read-only. You need no account to read it, and the site has no user login, comments, checkout, membership, or public upload feature. If you email us, the information you choose to include is the only information you directly submit to Play Walnut.

2. Information processed when you visit

Depending on your location, consent choices, browser settings, and the services active on the page, the following categories may be processed:

  • Technical request data: IP address, request time, requested URL, browser or device information, referring page, and security or performance signals processed by hosting and delivery providers.
  • Analytics data: page views, session statistics, approximate location, device and browser category, traffic source, clicks, scrolling, and similar interaction measurements.
  • Advertising data: ad requests, cookie or device identifiers where permitted, consent signals, viewed ads, and measurement information used by Google and participating advertising providers.
  • Contact data: your email address and message content if you voluntarily contact the site.

Play Walnut does not ask visitors to submit government identifiers, payment information, precise GPS location, health records, or walnut purchase details.

3. Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-LS9XVJZB5B) to understand readership and improve navigation and content. Its default implementation can process user counts, session statistics, approximate geolocation, browser and device information, page paths, and traffic sources. Google states that the _ga first-party cookie can store a client identifier when analytics storage is permitted.

Our implementation sends page measurement and limited site-interaction events such as sustained reading, deeper scrolling, and selected navigation clicks. We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, or other directly identifying contact information to Google Analytics.

4. Microsoft Clarity

We use Microsoft Clarity (project ID st3nxgg5uj) to identify layout problems and understand how visitors use pages through aggregated interaction data, heatmaps, and session playback. Clarity may process page interactions, clicks, scrolls, device information, approximate location, and pseudonymous identifiers. Sensitive page content should not be intentionally submitted because the site has no account, payment, or public form workflow.

Clarity can use first- and third-party cookies, including identifiers described in its official cookie documentation, when the relevant consent is granted. The site initializes Clarity with analytics and advertising storage denied and passes consent signals when the Google consent interface provides an applicable decision.

Learn more from Microsoft: Clarity cookies and consent and Microsoft Privacy Statement.

5. Google AdSense and advertising

The site contains Google AdSense publisher code and may display Google-served advertising after site approval and subject to user choices. Google and advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to deliver and measure ads, limit repetition, detect fraud and abuse, and, where permitted, personalise advertising.

Play Walnut does not choose the individual ads shown and does not receive the identity of a visitor from an ordinary ad view. Advertising does not determine article selection or conclusions. You can manage Google ad personalisation in My Ad Center.

If additional ad technology providers are selected in AdSense, the applicable providers and purposes are disclosed through the consent interface configured in AdSense. Their processing is governed by their own notices and the choices presented to the visitor.

6. Consent and Privacy & messaging

Google requires publishers serving personalised ads in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland to use a Google-certified consent management platform integrated with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. Play Walnut uses the AdSense publisher code and is prepared to use the Google consent interface configured through AdSense Privacy & messaging when it is published for the site.

Google consent mode is set to deny ad storage, ad user data, ad personalisation, and analytics storage before advertising and analytics tags load. A published consent interface can then update those signals according to a visitor decision. Clarity is also initialised without storage consent and receives a separate consent update when an applicable signal is available.

Where the Google consent API is available, use the control below to reopen the message and change a prior choice. The button remains hidden when no applicable consent interface is available. You can also clear or block cookies through your browser.

7. Hosting and media delivery

  • Vercel hosts and delivers the website application. Like other web hosts, it can process network, request, security, and performance data needed to serve pages. See the Vercel Privacy Notice.
  • Cloudflare R2 stores and delivers original Gallery photographs and video. Requests for those media files can include standard network and request data. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

8. Contact email and retention

If you email Play Walnut, we use the address and message to respond, investigate a correction, handle a rights request, or maintain necessary records of the communication. Please do not send sensitive personal information. Messages are retained only as long as reasonably needed for the request, recordkeeping, security, or legal obligations, then deleted when no longer needed.

Analytics, advertising, hosting, and media providers apply their own retention settings and policies. Because Play Walnut does not maintain a user-account database, there is no site profile or purchase history to delete.

9. Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent for personal information covered by applicable law.

  • Use the consent control above when it is available.
  • Change cookie and site-data settings in your browser.
  • Manage Google ad choices through My Ad Center.
  • Contact us for a request involving an email you sent or information under our control.

We may need enough information to understand and verify a request. Third-party provider data may also require using that provider’s privacy controls.

10. Children and international processing

Play Walnut is a general educational site about collectible walnut culture and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly request personal information from children. Service providers may process data in countries other than your own under their stated legal mechanisms and privacy terms.

11. Policy changes and contact

This policy may change when the site adds or removes a service, changes data use, or needs to reflect a legal or platform requirement. The latest review date appears at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected in the relevant section.

Email privacy questions or requests to [email protected], or use the contact page.
